Getting sidetracked too damn often. I am working on three posts at the moment not to mention other things.

Then I started reading Discworld.

Lets just say things went downhill from there. Though truth be told, it partly that and partly the fact that the Fall shows(with few exceptions) aren’t that interesting, but I said that already. Anyway, I should have the posts I’m working on done by the end of next week.

So, getting back ito the swing of things, here’s some ramdomness.

1) I found this on Youtube shortly after finishing StrikerS months ago.

The fact that Joji Nakata’s voice is coming out of Nanoha should creep me out, yet I think it sorta fits.

Also Hitler responds to Endless Eight worse than I did.

Though, sadly this lost some of the humor when it’s been used for other events.

And finally, one of the best AMV’s I’ve seen in quite some time.

2) Giant Robo is one of my favorite Anime series EVER. So imagine my glee when I saw Giant Robo: The Day The Earth Burned on the Recent Updates list on One Manga. The one solitary complaint I have so far is that it took 5 chapters for Alberto The Impact Shockwave to show up. I’ll probably do a Manga Monday about it eventually.

3) And finally there is live action K-On! porn. I don’t know what worries me more: The fact that I going “Ho-hum” about this, or the fact that I’m downloading it while I’m typing this. And no, I’m not telling you where to download it, find out yourself.

So, with the Fall Season underway and all the Good shows Spring and Summer has brought us(And Valkirya. And Tears No Tiara, and Endless Eight. Goddamn Endless Eight…) ending or ended, the Fall season has creeped up on us. Will this season bring us the awesome bounty that Spring and Summer has given us, or will be like last year, a season of Misery, Regret, and Wasted Potential?

Judging by the shows that came out, I’m gonna have to go with the latter.

Hiya. It’s been way too damn long.

So, to get back into the habit of posting, I decided to participate in Twitter’s Manga Monday event, Which is Exactly What It Says On The Tin(And yes, it also means I have a Twitter account as well, so follow me dammit!)  It also gives me an excuse to start a segment I like to call The Cobrafire 5, which is me giving 5 reasons for something each week(Why 5 and not 10 you ask? Cause I don’t feel like looking up 10 reasons for something) So this week,in no particular;ar order, it’s the 5 Best Manga Adaptations. So, In the words of one Leeroy Jenkins, “LET’S DO THIS!”

Everyone by now knows that Dragonball: Evolution is a steaming pile of Male Bovine Excrement, and frankly, it deserves every ounce of bad press. But let’s rewind to 2008, when Speed Racer came out. Almost every Otaku(myself included, I’m afraid) were bitching and moaning about how Hollywood was gonna screw it up and it was gonna be a mockery of a Classic Anime series, much like we did with A movie called Dragonball this year.

There is just one thing: The Speed Racer Anime wasn’t that good to begin with.

In my opinion, Speed Racer is a Classic in the same vein as Manos: The Hands Of Fate is a Classic: They’re both inferior products that manage to withstand the test of time. The Speed Racer movie though, was actually pretty decent. Unlike the Excrement mentioned earlier, The Wachowski Brothers actually gave a shit about the source material. The race scenes were like F-Zero and Hot Wheels on CRACK. Speed was given a bit of Angst(and unlike Goku, it worked) which rounded out his character a bit more, Trixie wasn’t useless, and since Christina Ricci was playing her, also Hawt. The plot is pretty decent. All in all, I liked it.

“But Cobrafire,” you say, “How can you like this movie when it’s corny as hell?” To which I reply: Have you ever SEEN an episode of Speed Racer?

To be honest, I really should have gave the movie a chance before jumping on the “Hollywood is ruining Anime FOREVER” bandwagon. So when other live action movies based on a well known series, I won’t go all nerd rage and flat out proclaim it to be Garbage without trying to give it a benefit of a doubt.

Yes, even the Cowboy Bebop movie starring Keanu Reeves.

Nah, I just watched Dragonball – Evolution on Youtube, and it doesn’t disappoint : it is absolutley made of Fail and DESPAIR! But mostly Fail. I could go on  about how besides the obvious(The writer never read a page of Dragonball, for starters) they got it wrong, but a fellow deviant can do it better than I.

And to those complaining about how much of a shit job we Americans did, keep in mind that I apoligised months prior to the movie coming out, though I should rescind it due to the Manga That Must Not Be Named.

BTW, if you’re wondering what the actual Son Goku thinks about the movie, you’ll find out that he really don’t give a shit.

God, I mean two horrible things happing and it’s only Tuesday. I’m expecting Cthulu to rise anytime now…
